This strikes me as kind of an unfair question to ask a bunch of
addicts, along the lines of "If you knew you would be 30 lbs thinner
if you didn't eat chocolate for one year, would you be willing to
wait?" Yes, in theory, especially if all the stores stop selling
them. No, in reality, especially if that yummy box of Godiva is just
sitting there on the counter.
I was a little (just a little) disappointed after reading GoF,
because I thought the plot had too many holes and was overall not as
good as PoA. (Don't get me wrong -- I loved GoF, I'm saying only
that I liked it less than PoA; sort of like my second-best sexual
experience.) But if JKR asked had asked me "Look, Joywitch, I'm
going to take an extra year to write this thing and it will be much,
much, better -- do you mind waiting?" I know I would have gotten down
on my knees and pleaded with her "Nooooooooooooooooo Joooooooooo I
NEED IT NOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWowwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!"
I crave more of JKR's writing the way other people crave heroin, or
nicotine. At this point, I'd be happy to read JKR's grocery lists.
Not logical, I know, but there you go.
One thing I will say, though, is that I would have been perfectly
happy to forgo the movie if it would mean that JKR could write the
books quicker.
