Thank you, Cornflower O'Shea!  What a nice response!

I'd also take Hagrid off the list in a flash, not only because I don't 
like him, but because I don't see so much positive *or* negative 
influence from him as I do other characters - Sirius comes to mind as 
one, for example.  Hagrid plays a nice role in Harry's life, and I 
would consider him a friend to Harry (certainly far more than I would 
a teacher), but I don't see him much influencing Harry one way or 
another.  That's about all I want to say about that.

I like that Megan included the Dursleys, though, because through them, 
Harry has quite clearly learned how *not* to behave.  He has manners, 
is tolerant and is quite fair.  They are anything but those things.
