I'm sure that Snape is a trust worthy character. We are told that
Dumbledore trusts him, and I get the impression that this may be
because he was the spy who informed Dumbledore that V. was after the
Potters. There seems to be an interesting story behind Snape, but I
think he will utimately prove to be good. He may be Rowlings way of
stopping her characters from being clear-cut good or evil, as he has
made his mistakes, but has turned out alright in the end.

I get the impression that McGonagle will play a very little part in
the actual battle against Voldemort. While she is undoubtably a
talented witch, it appears that she is the one who deals with the
practicalities of running the school, while others worry about the
trouble with Voldemort.

I also agree that the power of Dumbledore seems to be waning, and
that Harry will have to be the one to finally defeat V. However, I
would like to see Dumbledore showing his strength against Voldemort
at the end of the next book, just to see what he's capable of. After
all, ther can't be a H/V encounter at the end of every book!

Sam.
