Well, technically Hagrid is bringing Harry from some bolthole where he and/or Dumbledore has been stashing Harry all day. I doubt they would have stayed in the village of Godric's Hollow itself, since they could be certain that the place would be crawling with Death Eaters trying to figure out what had happened to Voldemort -- especially seeing as Sirius turned up so quickly.

Naturally not wanting to apparate with a baby, and not wanting to put some telltale mysterious station on the Floo Network, Dumbledore directed Hagrid to take any survivors to a second secret location probably within an hour or so's travel from Godric's Hollow. Even if Hagrid had a portkey with him he could have used, he most likely wouldn't have been able to port Sirius' motorcycle. And then at the appointed time the following evening (Dumbledore probably having either checked over Harry himself or having had Snape do it earler in the day), Hagrid left for the long flight to Surrey.

We've discussed this over on Snapefans, and apparently it's reasonable to imagine going from the Snowdonia ranges over Bristol to Surrey.

(And why do the Dursleys live in Surrey? Dur! Because Emma Woodhouse lived in Surrey! Ain't literary allusions fun?)
