I'm thinking that wands might have to do with ratio measurements of your
body. But then people would have to change wands when they grow old, and
V never changed his. I'm not length has anything to do with power...just
might be the aura around the person.
As for Harry's powers. I read something on Mugglnet.com's news page, and
there's a new theory, which is interesting.
What is Lily is V's Grand-daughter? I used to think this was false,
because I thought V was the last *descendant* of Slytherin. I can't
remember exactly what my book said, and they have been lent out, so I
can't look it up. But I read on the Lexicon, that the descendant was a
correction that should not have been. Rowling stated that ancestor is
the correct word to use. So I take it that V would be the oldest out of
the living heirs. Now...it is quite possible for V to have had a child
that we didn't know about. If this child were a squib, it's even more
likely that V wouldn't have anything to do with it. So..If this child
were a squib...he/she would live in the muggle world, and have
muggle-born children. Perhaps Lily was one of those children?
Now..If Lily were an heir of Slytherin/kin to V, she'd probably be
pretty powerful. Not to mention the green eyes, while green is one of
the Slytherin colors, and the color that shoots out of V's wand. Match
her up with someone who could possibly be the heir of Gryffindor
(James), and you have the makings for a quite powerful young child,
Harry. This might be why V was after Harry, simply because he's more
powerful than V, and V wanted him out of the way. This might also
explain why V didn't need to kill Lily. We don't know the circumstances
around James, whether he needed to die either.
Anyway...just a theory...
