This is what I think it happened:

The Yule Ball ended, Ron and Harry headed to the Gryffindor tower where at
some point Harry stopped to talk to Cedric. Ron entered the common room and
he found Hermione there. He started yelling at her how could she possibly
went to the Ball with Viktor Krum, he probably listed many reasons (He's
from Durmstrang, he's Harry's opponent, etc.). He probably yelled he doesn't
like Hermione seeing Krum. Then Harry walked in and heard Hermione yelling
"'Well, if you don't like it, you know what the solution is, don't you?'

After Hermione said "Next time there's a ball, ask me before someone else
does, and not as a last resort!'" Ron yelled back that she completely missed
the point (Krum as an enemy). But the point was that Ron was angry because
he didn't get to go with Hermione to the Ball, he was really jelaous at
Krum. I don't think Ron even realized he was jelous.
