Homemade jam, preferably with fruits of the summer -- strawberries or
raspberries, IMHO.

"Prove" is basically "rest". Perhaps it has something to do with yeast? Or
perhaps to cool from the mixing. I honestly have very little clue.

--John, who gets his scones from a wonderful little bakery around the corner
so has no need to waste time on his antiquated oven baking them.
