Well, I know McGonagall's official title is Deputy Headmistress 
(SS/PS ch. 4) - is Snape also a Deputy Headmaster? I thought he was 
just the Potions Master, but I could be wrong. Somehow I don't think 
JKR is going to give Snape THAT much power over the Gryffindors, 
though - at least, not for long. I don't see him replacing Dumbledore 
permanently.
