Yup. You bet. Fer sure. Okay by me.
Uh, what was the question again?
I still believe that Petunia has some witchiness in her: if she's
aware of it, she's repressed it almost completely but I believe she's
unaware of it because she doesn't understand much about the whole
witch-thing. This may sound unlikely but it would put her in good
company - ie, most of us.
Petunia achieving magic (as Shakespeare might have said, "Some are
born magic, some achieve magic and some have magic thrust upon
them...") late in life would have a number of advantages plot-wise.
It would take everyone by surprise, it would allow for the
possibility of a major character transformation which is always good
to read about and it would tie up a loose end whereby Lily is a great
witch and Petunia a nothing. Surely she's got something in her?
I still (stubbornly) think there's more to the Aunt Marge incident
than what's in GOF and I think we'll find before the end that Petunia
did it - unconsciously of course but perhaps she's paying Marge back
for all those times the dogs piddled on the carpet during a visit.
We'll see.
