Yes it would. We had exams at the end of every year at school, but
lessons carried on afterwards. They were used to feed back the exam
results and clear up any other odd business, afaicr. O and A levels
were different: all lessons stopped a week or so before them, in
order to give time to revise, and there was no school afterwards (I
went to a day school: I don't know what boarding schools do)
