Now THAT brings up some interesting thoughts.  I wonder, perhaps, if 
Ollivander himself INVENTED the wand.   Or perhaps, the wand shop is the 
place harry has been before that we havent seen some of it's more magical 
properties (or was that specifically mentioned as a room in 
hogwarts?  darnit, I forget)
