Very cute Amber! I loved it! Are you doing the same with Chapter 4?

> 1) When Harry thinks that Malfoy might've sent Dobby, did you
think that as well? Did you think it was a simple joke? Or did you
think there was something more to Dobby's message?
I know I didn't think that any of the Malfoys sent Dobby. But I
didn't know who might have sent him. I thought there wasa reason he
didn't want Harry to come back. Maybe because, like Dobby said, that
bad things would happen, but maybe for another reason. I didn't
think it was a joke.
> 2) What did you think when first read about Percy acting strange?
Did you automatically think that it was because of a girl?
I thought right away that it was a girl. He was the right age and
since he hadn't shown any interest up until then, he *would* act
strange about having a girlfriend over the summer! It wasn't
actually until later that I thought (wrongly, of course) that there
might be something else going on...something bad.
> 3) How do you think the twins knew how to drive/fly a car?
They're only about 14 years old at the time and as wizards, would
not
be familiar with it. And they obviously had to use magic to start it
up (Ron uses his wand to start the ignition in Chapter Five). Why
didn't the Ministry send them a warning for using magic during
holidays?
Not a clue. About the warning, though (or lack thereof), I think
that maybe MoM just keeps a closer eye on Harry, especially when he's
away from Hogwarts, because of everything that had happened to him.
> 4) Do you think the Weasley twins and Ron really thought they could
get away with Harry just showing up? The excuse `Mum, look who
turned up in the night!' is a pretty flimsy explanation. Do they
really underestimate their mother that much?
As someone who listens to the excuses of high-school boys on an
almost daily basis, I think that, yes, they really just thought that
it would work. Whenever I talk to my students and tell them I know
they're lieing (sp? I can never get words like this right! That's
why I teach French!), they always seem amazed that I even have a clue
about how their minds work!
> 5) Do you think the Weasley's always de-gnome the garden by
swinging the gnomes around in circles? Or do you think it was just
because it was a punishment?
I don't know. It seems to me like that's just the way to de-gnome a
garden. Of course Mrs. Weasley does seem to think that Gilderoy
Lockhart has a different way, so maybe that way uses magic. But it
seemed to me that the real punishment was not being able to go to
sleep. They seemed to almost enjoy seeing how far they could throw
the gnomes, like a contest.
> 6) Obligatory Silly Question: do you want a Chudley Cannons poster?
I sure do...
There are *many* posters in the wizarding world that I would like to
have, I'm sure. I'm not too keen on sports, though, so I don't know
how high a Cannons poster would rank on my list.

Great job, Amber! I've put off doing one just because I never have
(Stupid excuse, really. I need to take my own advice and try new
stuff for a change! <g>), but you have convinced me that maybe I
won't make a fool of myself on my first time. You did wonderful, so
hopefully I can follow in your footsteps, so to speak (although I
won't have the *alternate* version).
