I recall McGonagall in PS/SS, when Harry and Hermione go to the Astronomy Tower with Norbert- she has caught Draco and takes him to Snape. But I'm going to do a patrol-control, just to make sure whether she is the only staff member out in the corridors past curfew (except for Snape).

<I also agree that Snape is not a rule-breaker per se. <But we know Harry's

Uh, correct me if I'm mistaken, but who breaks rules only to break rules? If you cross the street in spite of the red lights, you don't do that to break a rule, but because you're in a hurry and can't wait. The only ones to act against rules for the mere purpose of doing so are Gred and Forge, they do so for the fun of it.

<but to do <something that he

<similarity--the stubbornness and, as Snape sees it in <Harry, the arrogance
<of setting out on one's own to solve a dangerous <problem.

Mmmh, still not convinced... Because your evidence is too thin- in fact it's only PS/SS, where we don't even know for sure whether he didn't tell Dumbledore after all.

<However:

<Don't go overboard, now.

Just let it happen, child! I would blush at reading my first posts to this group now, back in the mists of time when I still hated Snape. But in my ashtray (I use that instead of tea leaves) I see something like an arrow formed by three cigarette butts- it's Cupid, Amy, and he will get you! Hee,hee!

"Cool, sir!" said Dean Thomas in amazement.
"Thank you, Dean," said Professor Lupin.

"And how come those portraits seem to be alive?"

"What'ya mean? All paintings move."

"No, they don't. We have lots of paintings in our villa, among them a real Chagall, and none of them..."

"And d'ya expect that something painted by a jackal will move? Now really..."
