Theory: Snape/James Connections

Yet whilst in the pub Dumbledore said that Sirius was Harry's 
godfather and should anything happen to James and Lilly, would have 
looked after Harry. I assume that when Sirius was taken to Askaban, 
it would be quite difficult to bring up a one year old child...
