Wormtail, Snape, and Voldemort

This question just popped into my head, though we were talking briefly about 
whether Snape knew Peter was a DE. In PoA when the marauder's map starts 
insulting Snape, the last insult is by Mr. Wormtail. 

Now, in GoF Voldemort openly calls Peter Wormtail. Now, assuming Snape *is* 
in Voldy's inner circle, do you think he'll remember the map-and Wormtail? 
Or, if Wormtail was in Voldemort's inner circle before as well and was 
addressed as Wormtail (if you'll remember, whether or not they could see each 
other, Voldemort still addressed them by name. At least in GoF.) Why didn't 
Snape recognize the message on the Marauder's map? Or did he-but we were just 
never given enough incite?
