And if you look through the archives for Hermione and Age or Hermione and
Birthday you can see extensive deate on the issue. I personally think that
there is no reason to presume that the cutoff dates are tied to England's
traditional dates as Hogwarts predates the development of English
comprehensive schooling by centuries.

Hermione is almost a year older then Harry. J. K. Rowling once stated
in a chat that Ron's birthday is March 1st, and in a
different chat that Hermione's is on September 19th. She's not saying
if we'll ever see them celebrate.
