Hi --

As most of you have no doubt noticed, the list has become very, very 
high-volume lately.

Result: the Moderators (and List Elves) are adopting a zero-tolerance 
policy on rule-breaking.  You are expected to know & abide by the rules 
of this group.  They are in place to make the group more enjoyable for 
all of us.  If you cannot or will not follow the rules, you can expect 
to receive one (1) howler (warning) and then be placed on moderated 
status.

You all received a version of our ADMIN files when you joined the group. 
You should also have received a personal welcome letter from your own 
List Elf, with further directions to & elaborations on the rules.  A 
link to the ADMIN files is below my signature.

Remember the following when posting:

*  Absolutely positively *NO* off-topic posts.
*  No Sorting Hat results (and similar quiz results) to the list
*  Accurate subject headings
*  Snip off unnecessary quoted material; give context to your thoughts
*  Combine short response posts into one message; do not inundate the 
list with multiple short posts
*  No one-liners or "me too" posts

This is a group with a long history (30000+ messages).  Chances are 
overwhelming that your burning question has been asked before: please 
check the Message Archives (nifty search feature), the VFAQs (Very 
Frequently Asked Questions) and the FAQs (we're about to rename these to 
something snappier).  I noticed several questions yesterday in fact that 
could be answered by reading the FAQs.

Please also keep in mind that this is a group formed for adult 
membership only (as it says on the homepage).
