Exactly, Alex. I believe the definition of bloods involves either
Muggle or wizard, and does not include Muggle-BORNS in its definition.
No blood would obviously be a Muggle, while pureblood would be a
witch/wizard (for purposes of talking about offspring). So, a
pureblood and Muggle together would make a half-blood wizard.
Muggle + witch/wizard = half-blood
Witch + wizard = pureblood
Muggle + Muggle = "Mudblood"
I think it could get really, really confusing is when you go further
down the generations. The offspring of a half-blood is still a wizard
(let's assume), but for our purposes, technically wouldn't ANY
witch/wizard be considered pureblood? Being born of TWO Muggle
parents doesn't seem to have any relation into this diagram, which is
even more muddling.
Harry, is most definitely (IMNSHO) a pureblood, being born to two
full-blown wizards. So would a half-blood and a pureblood make
quater-blood? Does anyone know the rules for this sort of thing?
