There are lots of wands flying around in PoA, aren't there? I recall
that Pettigrew dives for Lupin's dropped wand, not Ron's. So then,
does Pettigrew still have Lupin's wand when Pettigrew transforms?
No, because Harry disarms Pettigrew right before he transforms, and
Lupin's wand flies out of sight. Thank goodness for that, because I
don't know where Lupin would scratch together the money for a
replacement wand.
I wonder if Pettigrew would have kept Lupin's wand had Harry not done
this? You could argue that animagi only keep their own wands because
of their special bond with their own wand, so another person's wand
wouldn't work. But I suspect that JKR intends no such thing, and
that's why she explicitly has Harry disarm Pettigrew.
Speaking of wands, does anyone think Sirius' wand still exists 12
years after he was sent to Azkaban? Wouldn't it probably be at MoM.
If so, then perhaps Arthur Weasley will steal Sirius' wand from MoM
and return it to him in OoP? This would be a good device to get
Arthur fired. (I sure hope Percy doesn't get wind of the plan and
turn his own father in.) I can't see how Sirius will be much help in
the fight against Voldemort without a wand.
