MOVIE: Heyman comment from EW

I was recently re-reading the Entertainment Weekly article on the 
movie (link below) and, as I had wondered the first time I read it, 
again began to wonder what producer David Heyman meant by the 
following comment.  I didn't bring it up the first time so I figured I 
might as well now.  How do you guys interpret this quote?

"There are certain things that will be a surprise that aren't fully 
evolved in the book. You think about Voldemort.  You look at what 
happens in the end. It's so deus ex machina."

Not so much the first sentence, but the way that in his stream of 
conciousness it seemed to lead him to the latter comments.  Further 
development about Voldemort would make sense with those rumors about 
the Godric's Hollow set and the resulting speculation that they might 
show some element of V.'s attack there.  But Heyman refers 
specifically to the end of the book, which makes me wonder.  What does 
everyone think?  Am I missing something glaringly obvious?  (It 
wouldn't be the first time.)
