Wow, thats the first explanation that actually fits!  I always had a 
problem with the fact that Dumbledore left Harry with the Dursleys 
because I *really* do believe that they are related.  I remember 
reading somewhere in the series that Dumbledore had auburn hair when 
he was younger, and IIRC Harry's mother had auburn hair in the mirror 
of Erised.  Im not 100% sure and it's not a very strong link to go on 
bet hey... it's one of my favourite theories!!

I also thought this at one stage, but I think that it might be just a 
thing that all the Hogwarts headmasters automatically inherit certain 
heirlooms from the founders.  OTOH, I do believe that there is a 
connection between DUmbledore/Harry/Tom Riddle/Salazar Slytherin.  
I'm not sure how yet, but all will be revieled...mwahaha!!
