There has been something that keeps bothering me: when Crouch Sr.
meets Harry at the grounds, he says something along the lines: 

"Are you his...?
Dumbledore's...?"

Of course it's very convenient that Crouch was nearly insane. However,
it's said that *sometimes* what he said was actually making sense.

Please note that Crouch was very informed, and held extreme secrecy on
his business. I believe he was trying to say Harry was Dumbledore's
"something", relative, protege or whatever.
