Good day all, I am new to posting. I have been re-reading the hp series these past 2 weeks and have been giving much thought to the Snape issue...

I agree that this is brilliant. My own theory has been that Snape was so lenient towards Malfoy and co. because he was either a. terrified of Lucius because he was aware that he was still on the side of Lord V. or b. ingratiating himself to the son so that the father would still believe he was secretly still a part of the dark side. Now that I've heard the 'breeding weak DE's' theory, I might be re-thinking my position.
