"special bond" between Harry & Ginny due to their shared experience in
the Chamber is a bit of a stretch. She doesn't remember any of it
after all. Now, in fairness, I do suppose her descent into the
Chamber was a horrifying ordeal, but again, Tom wasn't present (and
neither was Harry). One does wonder how she managed to get there.
And did the sink just close up again I suppose? Did Ginny cause it to
close behind her and how was Tom guiding her? Was she writing in the
diary for instructions as she went along? Hmmm... am growing more &
more confused.

You're right. We don't know how she got there. But I have to imagine
that Tom took control of her the same way he did when he got her to
write messages on the wall and kill roosters. Then once inside the
Chamber, he dumps her off and waits for Harry.
OTOH, she could have arrived there by W.A.R.P.D.R.I.V.E. (Well,
Another Ruddy Plot Device to Raise Interest and Vary Entertainment),
but JKR would never do THAT.
