[HPforGrownups] anti-SHIP: Ginny griping

Being a fairly recent convert to the H/G camp, I might not be the best to 
refute this, but I wonder just how much of this perception comes from the 
fact that we only ever see Ginny through Harry's eyes.

Harry doesn't study with Ginny. He doesn't attend classes with her. He does 
with Hermione, and her intellect shines through the pages. To be honest, he 
rarely sees Ginny in canon. Yes, when she was 11 she squeaked a bit...she 
did a bit of fairly girly crushing...she wrote horrible 'poetry'...but she 
was *11*. By the end of book 4, she's 13, and while she was still obviously 
interested in Harry, and disappointed that she'd missed her chance to attend 
the Yule Ball, she wasn't a giggling idiot.

We have very little canon to go on here. My hope is that OotP will give us 
more information and bring some people back around to appreciating her as a 
character.
