Although I find it traumatic to think that Mrs. Lestrange might be
named "Florence", I have to admit that Elkins has a point. So far,
the two most prominent Slytherin girls have been named Pansy and
Millicent. Can't you just see Flo, Millie, and Pansy sitting down
together at the kitchen table to have a cup of coffee -- using the
skulls of their vanquished enemies as coffee cups?
Speaking of proper ladies, Elkins also mentioned that the wizarding
world is weirdly socially conservative, and so presumably reputation
is important for girls. I agree about the socially conservative part
(and it does seem a bit odd.) But, I haven't seen any sign yet of a
sexual double standard, I am pleased to say.
