I grant you, Hagrid is deeply flawed. But Dumbledore says that he 
would trust Hagrid with his life and indeed Harry's as well, as it's 
Hagrid he sends to fetch Harry from the house in Godric's Hollow.

If he's good enough for Dumbledore, then he's plenty good enough for 
me.
