I've just consulted my golfing husband. The verdict is a V-neck, probably
Argyle- patterned sweater. It's not a hilarious outfit, per se, although I
guess you'd expect anyone who actually played golf (which tends to have
standards of dress, no?) not to be wearing old, baggy jeans. I think JKR's
just making a contrast between a smart casual top and scruffy trousers.
Arthur, being interested in Muggles, has *almost* got it right.
