Without fail, (why, I cannot say), I laugh out loud for literally
minutes every time I read the introduction of Sir Cadogan in PoA. When
they leave him, and he says too call on him if they need him or
something, and Ron goes, "Yeah we'll call you...if we ever need
someone mental!" I crack up. In fact, I'm laughing out loud
uncontrollably as I write this. Why I find that line so funny, I don't
know. But it just gets me.

And more importantly, on the Triwizard Portkey issue. Croody says
TWICE (once to Harry as Moody and once to Dumbledore as Crouch) that
he *turned the cup into a portkey*. Implying, of course, that it was
not a portkey of any sort before he got his grubby hands on it.

Joe, who has so much to say on many threads, but is desperately trying
to catch up after a lengthy vacation. Oh, and who loves the
ever-so-evil Hagrid theory, but thinks it means Hagrid must be at
least the tiniest bit intelligent to pull it off, and that would mean
that Hagrid throughout the series is putting everyone else's Oscar
 winning performances to shame.
