The problem with this theory is that in PS, Mr Ollivander (i think, or 
else it's Dumbledore somewhere in Goblet of Fire) says that the 
phoenix that gave the feathers for the wand only gave two feathers.

Also, wouldn't it be more useful to have a wand which was fully 
functional, rather than having the brother wand effect, when facing an 
Ever so Evil wizard such as You-Know-Who himself? I mean, the brother 
wand effect was useful to Harry because he is obviously not *yet* a 
match for Voldemort through his magical abilities alone. But surely 
Dumbledore, apparently the only wizard that Voldemort was frightened 
of, would find more use in a functional wand which didn't connect with 
Voldemort's?

Although I do like the idea of Dumbledore and an elite group of 
friends being in a groups dedicated to defeating Voldemort.....maybe 
it's the "old group" (or something to that effect) mentioned at the 
end of GoF?
