Dear Talia and All--Well, we know that in 1945 Grindelwald was
defeated by Dumbledore. (Grindelwald, by the way, is also the name
of a cavernous and deeply wooded area near the Swiss and German
border--perfect area for Evil that is "hiding out.") And, we know
that Tom Riddle was already at Hogwarts in the 1930s, so those two co-
existed. Of course, Tom Riddle may not have transformed into
Voldemort (at least in his most powerful form), but it seems likely
that there are evil wizards all over the world and also, apparently,
within the magical realm/dimension. I agree that some few of these
Evil eizards may very well have as much power as Voldemort; however,
Dumbledore seems to indicate that not too many witches or wizards
achieve V's depth or broadness of power, so perhaps there aren't too
many "on the loose"! (Let's hope not anyway!) Opal Dragonfly
