Personally, I thought that it had to do with the wand cores that
Voldemort and Harry share, since both of them have tail-feathers from
Fawkes. I assumed that it was just an odd side-effect of the Priori
Incantatem that it would create phoenix song... if Fawkes was there,
though, what did he do? What was his purpose? JKR didn't mention Harry
getting any extra strength from the song or anything (I think, I don't
have my books in front of me). Just my two cents...
