An issue that's puzzled me for awhile

Does Hagrid know that Tom became Voldemort? He seems to know that 
Voldemort was at Hogwarts years ago, but does he link the guy who got 
him expelled, as Voldemort? Did Dumbledore divulge this piece of 
information to it? Is Hagrid sad that he never helped Tom? Or tried 
to? Were they friends at Hogwarts? Is Hagrid trying to make up for 
the fact that Tom turned out the way he did by attatching himself to 
Harry? Does he blame himself? If he doesn't know what Tom turned 
into, does he wonder what happened to him? Does he ask?
