Just a quick note, you are aware that there is the exact opposite
theory. Voldemort found out a child born in a certain year would be
his downfall, so he encouraged all his Death Eaters to have sons in
hopes that one of those sons might be the one. Then he would have a
chance to mold that son into a loyal servant of his own. I think there
are at least 4 boys in Slytherin in Harry's year who are sons of Death
 Eaters.

If this was Voldemort strategy, it was a pretty weak one. You can be
overthrown just as easily by the person inside as you can by someone
on the outside.

Just a thought.
