"How do we know you're the real Cindy? You've got a wand. Cindy
doesn't have a wand. She has a paddle. A big paddle. Right?" Pippin
asked as she saluted the group and blipped herself away from the safe
house leaving it still feeling rather full.

Melody eyes the captain standing to her right. She *looked* like the
captain. Rough calloused hands. The hat. The boots. She definitely
has that musty man of the sea smell to her, yet where was her paddle?
Melody raised an eyebrow and pierced her eyes at the captain for her
to answer the question.

Cindy grumbled a bit and growled, "Any person here that dares to
further question the validity of my person will have the distinct
pleasure of being introduced to my paddle personally."

"I still cannot see where she has it," Risti whispered as she leaned
over to the Elkins twin on her left at the table.

"Don't push the point, and besides, she has a wand," she whispered
back. "Accio."

"Oh," Risti nodded and went back to nibbling the border off her poptart.

Melody kicked her legs out on the barstool next to her. "Cindy,
Pippin is right. There seems more likely that Moody got that magic
eye after the Longbottoms' fateful night. But really that may not
bother your theory."

Cindy looked up curiously at the girl. "Really?" she asked with a
hint of hope.

"Well," Melody said. "Seems the possibility of someone or something
being invisible, whether by cloak or by whatever Dumbledore does to
become invisible without cloak, would threaten *any* law enforcing, so
they would need some way to eliminate and neutralize that threat. So,
it seems to me there could be some special "invisibility made visible
stuff" that assist them in that. In fact, they may have made Moody a
glass eye of the stuff for his many years of service. A special token
of the department for injury on the job."

Cindy grinned at the girl. "That could work. Nothing of course in
canon directly, but marks for imagination."

"So then," Melody smiled. "The DMLE then can assess the situation
when they get there fully. They could find poor stunned baby Neville
whether or not Moody has that special eye."

"But-but," Elkins Two stood up in protest. "Neville would not need
that memory charm. It would mean his memory is just...bad."

"What is so wrong with that?" Melody asked as Elkins Two coiled back
with a shiver.

"Oh, how *boring*," she tisked clanking her spoon on her coffee cup.

"You have to admit my twin Elkins," the other Elkins said sipping her
coffee. "Cindy's stunned baby Neville does work."

"Oh you just go away," Elkins Two hissed. "You are not *me*. I am
*me*. I say what I believe, and you are no SYCOPHANTS."

"Well *I* say what it is *I* believe, and *I* say that it is a
possibility," Elkins One said stomping her foot.

"Oh gracious," Melody sighed. "Cindy, you just *had* to do this,
didn't you?"

Cindy smiled her evil grin as she leaned back against the counter
watching the Elkins twins start pushing each other.

"Ladies, ladies," Melody called as Elkins One was reaching for the
butter knife and Elkins Two was grabbing for the dessert fork. "You
will wake Grey, and you do not what *that* now, do you? We just got
him to sleep, and he is rather grumpy if you disturb his slumber.
Besides, there is still a way that both sides can be happy here."

The Elkins twins paused their menacing glares at each other, Risti
stopped building her card house out of poptarts, and Cindy cut here
eyes over to where Melody was lounged back.

"Melody, we cannot *both* be happy here," Cindy said shaking her head.
"Oh, you have so much to learn little newbie."

Melody glared at the captain, "How *long* do I have to be here to
*loose* that little title anyway?"

"Probably a year or two," Cindy shrugged. "Now, what is it that you
are proposing? Spit it out. If I stay here any longer it is just
courteous that you serve me lunch as well."

"Why do I think, that was your intent all along," Melody sniffed.
"Anyway, have we ever had a time in the books where a kid has been
stunned? Anytime?"

All in the bright kitchen paused a bit as each member sped through
their collected HP knowledge, and each shook their head no.

"So we do not know what that kind of spell does to a child, do we? We
do not know what it would do to their "growth". If you stun someone,
couldn't that also mean you stun their cells to stop growing? You
pause and sedate their being. Seems to me, if that is done on a
precious toddler then it *could* do damage. Damage that is beyond
repair. And if they did not find Neville for a little while, then he
had *more* damage," Melody presented with a smile leaning back and
twisting one of her curls around her finger.

"Oh my poor Neville," Elkins Two cried as she buried her head in
Elkins One's shoulder. "He could be just...just..."

"Stupid," Cindy grinned largely.

"Yes, he could. -Or- His parents, in their rush to save him, over
stunned him, and he came out with memory loss but alive," Melody
concluded.

"Why...why..." Elkins Two babbled while she sobbed.

"Um, if you all will excuse me," Elkins One said fumbling with the
door to lead her twin outside. "I think she needs some fresh air.
She will be fine in a moment." The door clanked behind them and the
three left in the room watched Elkins One rock Elkins Two in the swing.

"That's sweet," Risti sighed.

The captain bristled a little and straightened her hat. "So Melody,
about that lunch."
