The more I think about it the more I feel certain that one of the Trio will
die.  And I think it will be Hermione or Ron.

YOu know, SO many people believe that Ron will sacrifice himself for Harry 
in the end and the chess game is the forshadowing of that. BUt I just can't 
see it. Don't get me wrong, I am sure Ron would die for Harry in a 
heartbeat, but I can't see Harry allowing it in the end. And honestly I 
wouldn't like it. Ron DOES always come second through his entire life. 
Wouldn't it just be too predictable and mondane almost for him to sacrifice 
himself for Harry? I think a much better scene would be where Ron tries to 
in someway, but Harry stopps him thinking to himself as if a straw that 
broke his bake, 'Why does everyone I love have to make life sacrifices for 
me? Why can't I make the sacrifice?'
I don't know if I am explaining it well, but I think if one of the trio has 
to die (and I hope and pray they don't) it will be Harry. However I am 
hoping not because I don't want to leave these books with a sour note.
