Yeah, I can see the necessity for letting Aurors use AK in some
situations. As Finwitch notes, you can kill without AK, but, so far
as we know, AK is the only *unblockable* curse that we know of. If
you're an Auror, and the Death Eater that you're trying to fight is
an expert blocker, AK may be your only route.
And yet, and yet. My inner Distruster of Official Channels of
Authority still cringes at the possibilities for abuse. If all the
Aurors were like Moody, who always tried to capture instead of
killing, then I'd have no problem with the fact that Aurors are
allowed to use AK. But all the Aurors aren't like Moody, so I worry.

Handy, yeah, but still awfully open to abuse. It seems like "I said,
<Stupefy! Mobilicorpus!> 'come along quietly, Mr. Death Eater'"
would be just as effective, and a lot less inclined to start one down
any slippery slopes.
