Below is my theory on Rubeus Hagrid. Please make sure to save your

what other points have been made already. Thank you!

'How did you get here?' Harry asked, looking around
for another boat.
'Flew,'
'Flew?
'Yeah - but we'll go back in this. Not s'pposed ter
use magic now I've got yeh.'
They settled down in the boat, Harry still starring
at Hagrid, trying to imagine him flying.

****************************************

Last night as I was rereading Harry Potter and the
Philosopher's Stone I stumbled across what I thought at
first to be a mistake on Rowling's part.

In Book One Harry asks Hagrid how he got to the
Hut on the Rock to rescue him in the middle of a storm.
Hagrid answered simply 'Flew,'.

How is it possible that Hagrid flew?
He doesn't own a broom stick (or carry one with him).
As far as readers know there are three ways for a
wizard to fly: enchanted cars, enchanted motorbikes or
broom sticks.
Other forms of magical transportation are:
floo Powder, apparation or port keys.
None of which are flying.

My theory is that perhaps Rubeus Hagrid is one of
the wizards missing from the the official Animagus registration.
Is it possible that (were he a bird, dragon, hippogriff, etc.)
he could have flown to Harry?
Therefore making it easier for him to move quickly from
location to location.
It would make sense that Hagrid should learn it without being
registered simply because he was barred from performing magic by law
until he was sixty-three years old.
