I thought that perhaps his bad temper stems from the lack of respect 
he gets (I'm assuming) from the Wizarding community.  Dumbledore 
seems to provide 'hard luck' cases with opportunities that perhaps 
they wouldn't find elsewhere in the wizarding community (because of 
prejudice, etc,etc.)   Aside from Filch do are there any other Squibs 
that we've come accross in the books?  (I think that the Weasley's 
have a distant cousin, or something, who's a squib - but perhaps I'm 
not remembering that correctly).  Perhaps we'll see the launch of 
ESIS (Every Squib Is Special) in the upcoming books ;)
