found material in CoS which hints at what we can expect in OotP?

Now Me:

Oh, there were so many things! If I remember that quote correctly,
JKR says that there were many clues hidden in CoS that haven't yet
shown any significance (as of GoF), and that she had a heck of a
time trying to discreetly plant them throughout the book. Aside from
those already mentioned, I noticed:

The lock-picking talents of Fred and George and Ron are first
revealed. (Later Harry gets a pen-knife from Sirius with attachments
to unlock any lock and untie any knot). It's just a personal fantasy
of mine to believe that Muggle skills like lock-picking will be very
important in the future.

We learn about the Malfoy's very own secret chamber beneath the
drawing room floor.

Hagrid shows up in Knockturn Alley. Not very big in the book, but
Coltrane plays it up onscreen and Coltrane knows where his character
is going.

The Ministry has increased the number and frequency of raids. I
cannot imagine why.

And this is my favorite passage (CoS Chp 13): "And while Harry was
sure he had never heard the name T.M. Riddle before, it still seemed
to mean something to him, almost as though Riddle was a friend he'd
had when he was very small, and had half-forgotten." Why? By the
time Harry was born, Voldemort (or He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named) were
familiar but not the name Riddle. And the name "Voldemort" didn't
even ring any bells with Harry when he heard it the first time!

That's all I can think of at the moment but I'm sure there were more.
