Now me: Nope, you are absolutely right. The quote that immediately 
jumps to mind for me is from Ron regarding Riddle getting Hagrid 
expelled, in Chp 14:

"Riddle does sound like Percy - who asked him to squeal on Hagrid 
anyway?" -emphasis on 'does' in the book. 

Of course, at this point the trio do not yet know of Riddle's 
ulterior motives and think Riddle simply did it for the greater good 
of the school (and to avoid that darned orphanage). So that's what 
they are comparing Percy to. 

In CoS Percy is also described for the first time as being quite 
ambitious (a Slytherin trait).  

I can't think of any other references at the moment.
