Dumbledore is an overly optimistic judge of character. He always gives
people the benefit of the doubt. It means that he gives jobs to
incompetents like Lockhart, and that he assigns Snape to teach Harry
Occulumency, when its really not a good idea.
So, if Dumbledore 'trusts Snape', yet does not trust him enough to let
him teach DADA, and also realises he was wrong to trust Snape to teach
Occulumency to Harry too, WHEN is he going to figure out that Snape is
not actually to be trusted AT ALL?
Snape is unable to overcome his hatred for the Potters. I don't think
that hatred of any kind is whats going to help Voldemort accept the
peace of love, mortality and death.
