And don't you feel even worse at the fact that James spent his 15 yrs 
as a bully, even with a good family? Draco was nasty, but his family 
background gave him a very valid reason to be so. Did James has the 
same excuse?

Sorry for the deletion, but I agree with all you've said ;)
Can you tell me where in canon indicate that Draco scribbles HG on 
his test papers?
