I don't think Harry was quite as clear as that as to what he was 
doing. He was angry and blinded by his grief for Sirius, more like, 
and did the first thing that came to his mind. And I am shocked that 
it was an unforgivable curse! 

Sure enough, this goes to show Harry isn't only Perfect little 
Potter, that there is a darker side to him, too. But it's very scary 
in a way, because he is only 15, after all. I'm quite sure Voldemort 
will be very pleased about this weakness in Harry.
