As a Jewish woman, the scene in GoF where the Death Eaters tortured the muggle family always
reminded me very creepily of Krystallnacht, a night in November 1933 in Germany when the ascending
Nazi party went on a rampage.  Many Jewish-owned stores in Germany were destroyed and hundreds of
Jews were severely beaten.  (And, of course, there's the use of the Death Eater head signal,
similar to the swastika.)  Much of the story thus far has made me think of the Holocaust, and the
resemblance only grows stronger as Rowling's story unfolds.  There's a very eery resemblance.
