> Hey! What about Snape punishing Harry for the sins of the father?
Just because a kid's father is evil, that makes him evil too? Talk
about your double standard...

Draco has threatened Harry's life. Harry has every right to protect
himself.

There is a difference between punishing Harry for something that
happened between two 15-year-olds 25 years ago and being skeptical of
someone who is learning at the knee of a CURRENT Dark Lord-follower.

So, any follower of Draco must therefore be viewed with suspicion. He
was the one who threw down the glove. "You're dead, Potter."

Harry can be forgiven for looking a little cautiously at someone who
was arm-in-arm with Draco a few months prior.

Of course, if Draco joined the group, I wouldn't be worried, since he
can't jinx his way out of a wet paper bag.

>I can see Harry being skeptical of any Slyths joining. Hermione
could just jinx another parchment to see if the kid will tell anyone
anything. Hermione's all for unity between the Houses. It's really
not fair to say that just because a kid's father is a DE that he
wants to be one when he comes of age. You don't think that it's
possible that the death of Cedric hit any of the Slyths as wrong?
That they haven't been able to see the error of the ways of their
father?

Entirely possible, but I won't blame Harry in the slightest for
needing to have it proved to him. He's trusted Tom Riddle, Quirrell,
Prof. Moody, Scabbers and Marietta the Pus-Filled Backstabber (or,
whatever her last name is.) and gotten burned.
