Sirius poor? Was "James Potter's profession?"

I reply:

Even disinherited, Sirius is still a trustafarian.  His favorite 
uncle gave him enough cash to buy his own flat and live independently 
(he only lived with the Potters when he was still underage).  He 
still had enough money to buy Harry a top-of-the-line polo pony in 
PoA.  I realize he's the kind of guy who would blow his whole wad on 
a gift for his godson, but Sirius, like James, is defenitely of the 
privileged classes.
