Snape's ability to spy?

I'm going to go the way of many fan-fic writers and say if Snape was
pretending to be spying for Voldy at the same time he was spying for
Dumbledore or vice versa than he might have been having to put on a
good show for Harry as well as Quirell, whom both he and Quirell
MIGHT have known was spying on him.

Another idea was that Quirell was having second thoughts. We know
that Voldemort punished him some times, so maybe Snape was "Acting it
up." If he was truly warning Quirell against Voldemort, and didn't
know Voldemort was there at the time, then perhaps he could have used
Harry's presence as an excuse later on for his behavior. He may very
well have known Harry was in the forest that time, but didn't want to
blow his cover by pointing Harry out and possibly having to hurt him
to convince old Voldy or Quirrel that Snape was still loyal. Or like
Peter Petigrew, he may have been able to prove his loyalty in some
way, maybe by giving Quirrel his part of the puzzle? Because Quirrell
DID get through Snapes potion puzzle.

I still think that Harry's presence had some impact on the
conversation. One of them must have known he was there, and that may
have influenced their behavior.

Any thoughts? Maybe Snape was just acting that way around Quirrel in
order not to reveal anything to Harry. Better that Harry think Snape
was scum then put him in danger of following Quirrel around. That may
be why Snape was angry about Harry seeing his gashed leg. His plans
were working almost too perfectly, too quickly, and putting Harry at
too many risks.

Anyways, thats my two cents...
