He's still there.  See, it takes two entirely
different kinds of bravery.  Neville had the kind to
stand up to his friends and tell them what they were
doing was wrong.  Ron (and Lupin) don't.

In all the dangerous situations since then, Ron's
still brave.  But we've never seen Ron challenge those
he's friends with when he thought they were doing
something wrong (with the exception of Hermione; he's
told her to lay off a time or two and he uncovered the
hats).

Ron's not a wimp, but he is afraid to go against "the
guys."
