I answer:

 I thought he was more in shock then afraid there. It was a side of 
Harry he had never seen and it stunned him.

 Me again:

 We didn't see Ron on any occasions when Ron was called upon to use 
discipline as a prefect that did not involve Fred and George. Of 
course he is going to have trouble dealing with them. Remember the 
retelling of the teddy bear/spider incident in COS. His deferance to 
them is very ingrained and has nothing to do with being a wimp. 
Sibling relationships are more complicated than that.

Me:) : 

     I didn't see his problems with quidditch being a result of 
anything but a lack of self confidence. Admittedly, even Fred and 
George don't have the heart to "take the mickey out of him" after 
the last match before their grand exit. See the above comment about 
sibling relationships.

     Me one more time:

         The brave Ron you're looking for is still there. We just 
need to remember that Harry is not the only one going through some 
angst.
